FSFOA is pleased to offer a virtual meeting titled Internal Controls - Best Practices and What Can Go Wrong.  The course will provide an overview of internal controls, a COSO framework fresher, principles and points of focus, case studies and other stories and additional considerations. You can earn 2 CPE credit hours by attending the meeting and answering the polling questions.

The presenters will be Wayne Durrett and Cody Girvan from James Moore, CPAs.  Cody has five years of experience providing auditing, tax, and personalized accounting services to government entities, nonprofit organizations, and privately held businesses. He’s a member of the AICPA Government Audit Quality Center, the FICPA State and Local Government Section, and the Volusia Young Professionals Group. Cody received a Master of Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Fraud Examination from Georgia Southern University.  Wayne has nearly 8 years of professional auditing and accounting experience. Wayne focuses primarily on our clients in the government, nonprofit and higher education industries and performs single audits as well as general financial statement audits. His previous work at the Florida Auditor General, where he reviewed audits to ensure they include key compliance areas, gives him a valuable perspective on these complex engagements.
